PORTLAND, ORE. - Sounders FC 2 (5-15-2, 17 points) on Sunday dropped a 4-1 decision at Portland Timbers 2 (13-10-3, 42 points) at Merlo Field. Sounders FC Academy product Josh Atencio scored the lone goal for the visitors, while Foster Langsdorf recorded a brace for the home side. The average age of S2's starting lineup was 18.4 years old, its youngest lineup of the season.
Portland got the scoring started with Langsdorf's first of the night in the 34th minute. Renzo Zambrano scored in the 61st minute to give T2 a 2-0 advantage, before Langsdorf bagged his second of the night seven minutes later.
In the 76th minute, Atencio won possession for S2 before finishing off the play with a left-footed blast from outside the area. Portland defender Adrian Diz Pe's marker in the 78th minute finished off the scoring in the 4-1 victory for the hosts.
