Saint Louis FC News Release
ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Saint Louis FC announced the signing of STLFC Academy goalkeeper Patrick Schulte and defender Lawson Redmon on USL Academy contracts, pending USL and U.S. Soccer Federation approval.
Schulte is from St. Peters, Missouri and spent last season with the STLFC Academy U17 team where he made 19 appearances and also played two games for the U19s during the 2017-2018 USSDA season. Lawson also played for the STLFC Academy U17 team and he made 19 appearances with two goals scored during the 2017-2018 USSDA season. Both will train with the first-team for the remainder of the 2018 USL season.
"Lawson is a young player from our Academy that has impressed in training and games that we have seen and he has a lot of potential but needs time to continue to develop," said STLFC Head Coach Anthony Pulis. "He is a good kid that works hard and we're looking forward to adding him to the group for training purposes and it's up to him to earn the opportunity for minutes in the professional game. Likewise, Patrick is exactly the same-a young goalkeeper with a high ceiling-and he has just been introduced into training with us which shows the pathway for players in our Academy to perform well and earn opportunities to train with us and potentially get game minutes."
"Having Patrick and Lawson join us is another sign that the club continues to be committed to developing the talent that comes from within the Academy," said STLFC Vice-President & GM Jeremy Alumbaugh. "There is a process that the technical staff goes through in order to make sure that Academy players are ready for this next step and we are very proud of our track record with these players being successful and contributing to the overall environment with Saint Louis FC."
