Rychel Reassigned to Monsters by Columbus

CLEVELAND - Cleveland's Lake Erie Monsters, proud affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, announced Tuesday that second-year left wing Kerby Rychel was reassigned to the Monsters by Columbus in advance of Lake Erie's Thursday road game vs. the Manitoba Moose at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg. A left-handed shooter, Rychel was selected by Columbus with the 19th pick of the first round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

A 6'1", 205 lb. native of Torrance, CA, Rychel leads the Monsters with two goals, four points and a +2 rating in two appearances for Lake Erie this season and was named 'First Star' of the Monsters' home opener on Friday, a 4-1 win over the Iowa Wild at The Q. Rychel registered a -1 rating and five penalty minutes in one appearance for the Blue Jackets during his most recent call-up, a 4-1 road loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on October 17th.

In five appearances for Columbus during the 2014-15 season, Rychel registered three assists, two penalty minutes and a +3 rating while additionally posting 12 goals, 33 points, 43 penalty minutes and a +7 rating in 51 AHL appearances for the Springfield Falcons last year.
