Owen Sound Attack News Release
Toronto - The Ontario Hockey League today announced that Owen Sound Attack forward Bobby Ryan is the OHL Player of the Week for the week ending March 11, 2007. Ryan scored three goals and added six assists for nine points in two games. It is the second time this season that Ryan has received the award. Wayne Simmonds is the only other member of the Attack to win the award this season.
Saturday night, the Collingswood, New Jersey native recorded four assists in a 9-4 victory on home ice against the Windsor Spitfires. Sunday afternoon, Ryan scored three goals and added two assists and was named the game's first star in a 7-6 shootout loss to the London Knights. Ryan's hat trick broke the Attack's franchise career goal scoring record of 131 goals held by Wes Goldie. Ryan already held the franchise records for total points and assists, setting both records earlier this season.
The second overall pick of the Anaheim Ducks, in 2005, was the eighth player in the Ontario Hockey League to reach the 100-point plateau this season. In his fourth season, Ryan leads the Attack in scoring with 100 points in 61 games.
