The Saginaw Spirit would like to congratulate forward Cody Bass and defenseman Patrick McNeill for being named the Covenant HealthCare Players of the Week.
Center Cody Bass tallied 1 goal and 5 assists over the weekend; he was plus-4. The Guelph, Ontario native came to the Spirit in January by way of trade with the Mississauga Ice Dogs. Bass has scored 5 goals and 20 assists in 27 games with the Spirit, 10 goals and 31 assists this season. He was selected by the Ottawa Senators in the fourth round, 95th overall, of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
Defenseman Patrick McNeill matched Bass in offensive numbers with 1 goal and 5 assists on the weekend; he was plus-3. The Strathroy, Ontario native has tallied 22 goals and 35 assists this season. McNeill was drafted in the fourth round, 118th overall, by the Washington Capitals in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
