Rush Announce 2011-12 Season Schedule

(Rapid City, SD) - Today, the Rapid City Rush, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League, announced the 2011-12 regular season schedule. The Rush will begin their fourth season on the road against the Wichita Thunder on October 21st. The Rush will open the 2011-12 home schedule on October 28th against the Dayton Gems at 7:05pm.
"We are very happy with this season's schedule," said Rush General Manager Tim Hill. "I think our season ticket holders will be very happy. We have only five weekday home games and a very diverse schedule as the most we play a team is eight times. I'm also happy with the travel for the boys. Obviously we will always have that long road trip due to the stock show, but the opponents are in the same area, so not too much running around. Finally, the players and hockey ops staff will be home for every holiday, which is great for them and their families."
Key home dates include a pair of contests against the Evansville IceMen following the Thanksgiving holiday (November 25th & 26th), a mid-week matchup with the Arizona Sundogs heading into the Christmas weekend (December 21st & 22nd), and a New Years Eve celebration versus the Tulsa Oilers (December 31st).
The Rush will enjoy an 8-game home stand and 10-of-11 at home from mid-December through mid-January.
