SEA DOGS TOP PONIES IN SERIES FINALE: Portland earned a four-game series split, beating Binghamton 2-1 on Wednesday afternoon at NYSEG Stadium. Mike Shawaryn tossed six innings one-run ball to earn the win, despite being outlasted by Scott Copeland, who pitched seven innings in the loss. The Ponies and Sea Dogs played three straight one-run games after Binghamton's 16-2 series-opening win.

BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Ricky Knapp makes his third Eastern League start of the season. The 26-year-old lost against Erie on Jul7 7, before tossing six shutout innings in a no decision at Akron on July 14. The Rumble Ponies haven't scored any runs with Knapp on the bump, losing 10-0 to the SeaWolves 10-0 before a 1-0 extra-inning loss at Akron.

PONY 'PEN: Binghamton's bullpen has not allowed a run over the last four games. The relievers have combined to toss 10.0 scoreless innings, with 10 strikeouts and four walks.

CLOSE CALLS: Five of Binghamton's last eight games have been decided by just one run, including three straight against Portland. The Rumble Ponies are 14-12 in games decided by just one tally.

GLOVE LOVE: Binghamton did not commit an error in the four-game series against Portland. The Sea Dogs, meanwhile, made five errors in the set.

HITS LEADER: Levi Michael collected two hits in Wednesday's loss and now leads the Eastern League with 98 knocks. He's the active team leader in home runs (10), doubles (23), and batting average (.299).

SPLITTING THE DIFFERENCE: Binghamton and Portland each took two games in their four game set, just Binghamton's second series split this season. The Rumble Ponies and Thunder split a four-game series June 25-28 at NYSEG Stadium.

HEY JOE: One night after picking up his first career Double-A save, RHP Joe Zanghi tossed a scoreless ninth inning against Portland. The 23-year-old has not allowed a run over his last four appearances, spanning 7.2 innings.

TRIPLE THREAT: 33 of Binghamton's 45 victories have come against three teams (Erie - 12, Portland -11, New Hampshire - 10). The Rumble Ponies remain the only team in the Eastern League with at least 10 wins against more than one opponent.

FULL HOUSE: 6,265 packed NYSEG Stadium on Wednesday afternoon, the fifth time this season the Ponies have drawn at least 6,000 at home.
