Akron RubberDucks News Release

Akron's Jake Paulson threw five shutout innings, and Tyler Krieger slugged an RBI triple, as the RubberDucks notched a 3-0 shutout over the Harrisburg Senators in a rain-shortened game Sunday afternoon at FNB Field in Harrisburg, Pa.

Turning Point

The RubberDucks (70-55) held a 2-0 lead entering the third inning and added to it when Andrew Calica drew a lead-off walk from Harrisburg starter Wil Crowe (0-3) and Krieger cracked an RBI triple to right field to expand the lead to 3-0. It was Krieger's third triple of the year and extended his hit streak to five games.

Mound Presence

Paulson (7-5) went the distance (5.0 IP) for Akron and picked up his first win since July 21st. He scattered three hits and worked around three walks.

Duck Tales

The RubberDucks scored in each of the first three innings against Crowe. In the first, Calica managed to scamper home from third when Krieger got caught in a rundown on a failed stolen base attempt. Sam Haggerty added a sacrifice fly in the second inning to make it 2-0. Krieger and Jodd Carter finished with two hits apiece.
