PORTLAND, Maine. - Altoona Curve catcher Arden Pabst backed up a strong showing by starter Dario Agrazal with a homer and four RBIs in an 8-2 win over the Portland Sea Dogs on Sunday at Hadlock Field.

The Curve (67-55) claimed two of three in Portland to win the season series, four wins to three, over the Sea Dogs (53-70) in 2018. Through the first two stops on the Curve's eight-game road trip, Altoona owns a 4-2 record with two games remaining in Binghamton.

Pabst parked a three-run homer over the 37-foot high Maine Monster that capped a four-run second inning. The home run was Altoona's first hit of the game off Portland starter Kyle Hart (Loss, 7-9), who walked two hitters to set the table for the blast from Pabst. Later on in the seventh, Pabst matched a career-high with his fourth RBI of the game on a two-out, RBI single that extended the Curve lead to 8-2.

Agrazal (Win, 5-3) held Portland hitless through 3.1 innings before the Sea Dogs connected on their only three hits against him and two runs in the fourth. Two of Boston's top prospects, Michael Chavis and Bobby Dalbec, hit consecutive singles with one out and scored on a double off the bat of Luke Tendler. Agrazal finished his six-inning outing by retiring the final eight hitters he faced and totaled six strikeouts and one walk.

Two Sea Dogs errors led the first run of the game for Altoona prior to the second-inning homer by Pabst. Will Craig reached on an fielding error at third to start the second inning and moved up on a walk to Jordan George. Craig swiped third base and forced a throwing error by Portland's catcher that allowed him to score on the play.

The Curve added runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh. After three straight singles with one out in the fifth, Altoona loaded the bases and a passed ball brought in Alfredo Reyes to extend the Curve lead to 5-2. In the sixth, the Curve tacked on two more to take a five-run advantage. Tyler Gaffney hit a two-out double to left to move Stephen Alemais, who hit a long single off the wall in left, to third. Cole Tucker then delivered a two-run double to left.

Geoff Hartlieb and Scooter Hightower delivered one perfect inning apiece out of the bullpen to run up a stretch of 14 straight Sea Dogs sat down in order. Chad De La Guerra broke the that string in the ninth with a lead-off double off Matt Eckelman, who worked a scoreless ninth inning to finish the game.

The Curve travel to Binghamton for a brief, two-game series with the Rumble Ponies beginning on Monday at 6:35 p.m. Right-hander James Marvel (1-1, 1.98) will start for Altoona to open the series against left-hander Matt Gage (2-0, 3.09) for Binghamton.
