Kelowna, BC - The Victoria Royals and Vancouver Giants played in a special teams affair on Wednesday. The teams had a combined 14 power plays on the night, and although the Royals were able to score a pair of goals with the man advantage it wasn't enough as the Giants skated away with a 5-3 victory.

POWER PLAYS GALORE: Tonight, the Royals and Giants combined for 14 power play attempts. Vancouver went 3/9 on the night while Victoria was 2/5. The last time the Royals gave up nine or more power plays in a night was on March 2, 2018 in a 2-1 OT loss to Prince George.
ON A ROLL: Forward Brayden Tracey has points in 10 of the last 11 games. The Anaheim Ducks' draft choice has eight goals and six assists for 14 points over that span.
FIRST IN THE DUB: Carter Dereniwsky tallied his first WHL point tonight when he assisted on Ty Yoder's third period marker.
MILESTONE: Adam Evanoff set two career milestones on Wednesday night. The Royals' 20-year-old goaltender surpassed the 6,000-minute played mark as well as the 3,000 saves plateau for his WHL career.
SAVES O'PLENTY: Adam Evanoff leads the BC Division with 256 saves in eight games played this season. Evanoff's goaltending partner, Connor Martin, has the second most saves in the BC Division with 187 in six games.
