King County Royals News Release

SEATTLE - The King County Royals, an expansion team in the American Basketball Association, have announced the signing of local standout Jeffrey Day to the team's roster. Making the announcement was Royals general manager and head coach Rick Turner.

Day, a 6'9" center, starred at Seattle Prep, helping lead the school to the class 3-A state championship in 2000. He then moved on to the University of Washington, where he played two seasons before transferring to Creighton University in 2004. In his junor season and first at Creightion, he helped lead the school to the Missouri Valley Conference championship and the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Day joins several other notable players on King County's roster with regional basketball ties. The team's leading scorer, guard Randy Green, played four years at Washington State, while forwards Chris Walcott and Chad Williams played at Washington and Seattle Pacific, respectively.

The Royals next home game will take place this Sunday, Dec. 3 at 5 p.m. at North Seattle Community College against their I-5 rival, the Bellingham Slam. The Slam defeated the Royals, 108-96, in the team's home opener on Nov. 12.
