Anderson Champions News Release
Defense was not the name of the game as the visiting Twin City Ballers defeated the Anderson Champions 144-139. The Champions who were sporting new uniforms, came out of the gate strong, but were never able to gel defensively.
"We have to get better on the defensive side of the ball, that's all there is to it. Offensively we're solid, but we have a lot of work to do," commented Champions Coach Ray Tolbert. "Next week will be different, I promise you that."
Steve Turner led to the Champions with 21 points, with Antiony Hardin contributing 19.
The Champions will meet the same Twin City Ballers at the Anderson Wigwam next Saturday. Tip-off is slated for 7:05pm.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
