Royals Sign Defenseman William Lacasse

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that the team has signed defenseman William Lacasse ["lah KAHSS"] to an Amateur Tryout Agreement.

Lacasse (6'1/197) (24), who hails from St. Pie, Quebec, just completed his senior season with Neumann University, where he led defenseman on the team twenty-two points (5g-17a) and twenty-six penalty minutes in twenty-five games. A three time selection to the First Team All-ECAC West Team, Lacasse began his collegiate career at SUNY-Buffalo State, where he recorded fourteen points (5g-9a) and twenty-penalty minutes in twenty-five games in 2008-09. In three years at Neumann University, Lacasse scored thirteen goals and assisted on fifty-five others (sixty-eight points) in 79 ECAC-West games.

The Royals return to action on Friday (March 9, 2012 @ 7:05 pm) when the Toledo Walleye visit the Sovereign Center for the final regular season match-up between the two teams. That night, the Royals and the Sovereign Center will host a 'Happy Hour' at the Corner Bar and Restaurant (6:00 pm - 7:30 pm). Friday's game night broadcast will start at 6:35 pm with the Red Robin Gourmet Burger Pre-Game Warm-up Show on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Reading.
