WEEK IN REVIEW

Wednesday, February 29

Elmira 3, Wheeling 2

First Arena

The Jackals scored three goals in the first 20:36 of the game, with Jimmy Martin, Artem Demkov, and Rob Bellamy converting for Elmira. The early production would be enough, as the Nailers scored twice in the game but could not catch up to the Jackals, who won 3-2. Brian Stewart kicked off a strong week in net with a 22-save effort for his 19th win of the season.

Friday, March 2

Reading 3, Elmira 1

First Arena

Elmira ran into a brilliant goaltender performance by Reading's Mark Owuya, who stopped 47 of 48 Jackals shots as the Royals prevailed, 3-1. The loss was Elmira's first in regulation to Reading since Nov. 13, ending a nine-game point earning streak against the Royals. John Kurtz posted the Jackals' lone goal in the second period.

Saturday, March 3

Elmira 4, Reading 1

Sovereign Center

Mike Radja returned to the Jackals from the AHL's Houston Aeros and delivered his most productive goal-scoring night as a pro, as the Yorkville, Ill. native secured his first-career hat trick, leading Elmira to a 4-1 win over Reading on the road. The game was the Jackals' last at the Sovereign Center in 2011-2012, as Elmira ended its road series with Reading with a 6-1-2-0 record.

Sunday, March 4

Elmira 3, Reading 0

First Arena

Elmira limited Reading to just 14 shots as the Jackals and Brian Stewart notched their first shutout of 2011-2012. The Jackals took care of all their scoring by the 2:13 mark of the second period, receiving goals from Rob Bellamy, Corey Cowick, and Benjamin Dieude-Fauvel. The 14 shots were the fewest by any club against the Jackals this season.
