Ruegsegger Loaned to Abbotsford Heat

Alaska Aces forward Tyler Ruegsegger has been loaned to the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League, Head Coach Rob Murray announced on Wednesday. This is Ruegsegger's second AHL call-up this season, and the third of his career. The Aces are home on Friday and Saturday night to host the Colorado Eagles in their final two home games of the regular season. The Aces and Eagles are the top two teams in the Mountain Division. Ruegsegger, 24, has 25 points (13g, 12a) in 47 games this year, and has a combined 40 points (22g, 18a) in 70 games with the Aces over the last two years. The former University of Denver forward was acquired by the Aces in a January trade last season with the Utah Grizzlies. A Lakewood, CO native, Ruegsegger is a former 6th round selection (#166 overall) of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2006 NHL Draft. This will be Ruegsegger's second stint with the Heat. Last season in mid-March, Ruegsegger was called up to Abbotsford for 12 games where he furnished a goal and four assists. Earlier this season Ruegsegger spent four games in the AHL with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Ruegsegger had missed the last nine games with an injury, and was activated off the IR just prior to his loan to Abbotsford.
