Reading Royals News Release
Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL today announced that the team's weekly coach's show, Royals Radio Recon, will be hosted for the second consecutive season by Jimmy G's Railroad House Sports Bar and Restaurant (152 Woodrow Ave., Sinking Spring, PA; 610-678-1177). The show, which airs on Tuesday nights from 6 - 7 pm, will kick off the 2012-13 season on Tuesday, October 9.
The hour-long show will continue with a similar format to seasons past, featuring Head Coach Larry Courville or Assistant Coach Tim Branham and a couple of the team's players each week. Radio Recon will be hosted by Royals' broadcaster Mark Thompson and color commentator Pat Richards. The show will be broadcast live on Reading sports station, ESPN Radio, 1240 am and 98.5 fm. Of course, fans are encouraged to attend and participate with questions and comments-and we always are seeking absurd answers (for which there are always available prizes-including weekly gift certificates to The Railroad House) to the equally whacky Crazy Trivia questions posed by the hosts.
The Railroad House, which dates back to the 1800s and was re-opened by Jimmy G and his wife, April, in 2007, features a menu steeped in American cuisine, offering many traditional favorites at affordable prices. The venue, which hosts live music on many nights, boasts no fewer than twenty-six flat-panel high-definition televisions and two huge high-definition projector televisions which offer sports fans virtually all of the available televised action on any given night.
The Royals open the 2012-13 regular season in Elmira, New York, on Friday, October 12, 2012, when the team will take on the Elmira Jackals at 7:05 pm. The next night, Saturday, October 13, 2012, the Royals open the home season when the Trenton Titans visit the Sovereign Center at 7:05 pm. Season Tickets for the 2012-13 Reading Royals are currently available. Call 610-898-7825 or visit www.royalshockey.com for more information.
