Thunder Announces 2012-13 Training Camp Roster

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League, has announced goaltenders Jimmy Spratt, Ryan Klingensmith, Matt Pamidi and defenseman Michael Monfredo have been signed to professional tryout agreements.

Spratt, 26, has appeared in 54 career ECHL games with Utah, Idaho, Victoria, Toledo and Las Vegas and posted a record of 9-12-0 and a .903 save percentage with Idaho and Utah last season. He also made his American Hockey League debut with the Texas Stars in 2011-12 and went 1-1-0 with a .909 save percentage and 2.02 goals against average.

Klingensmith, 24, skated with HK Partizan in Serbia last season and appeared in 27 games with a goals against average of 2.86, helping guide the team to a league title. He previously played in four seasons for Norwich University (NCAA) and earned a career high .917 save percentage in 23 games as a 2008-09 junior. The 5-foot-10 and 168 pound goaltender capped his final season in 2009-10 with a career best 1.29 goals against average and helped the program capture the NCAA Division-III national championship.

Pamidi, 27, has suited up for the Thunder previously as an emergency backup goaltender and skated with San Jose State University for three seasons.

Monfredo, 22, skated with SUNY-Fredonia (NCAA) last season and earned eight points (3g-5a) and 22 penalty minutes in 26 games. He previously played in 154 career games with Motor City of the North American Hockey League and posted 78 points (16g-62a) and 501 penalty minutes.

The team's training camp roster for the 2012-13 season will open with 28 skaters and four goaltenders and currently consists of nine players who have suited up previously in a Thunder uniform, many of them helping guide the club last year to the second round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs for the third time in four seasons.

The Thunder also has signed players currently skating in training camps with AHL teams, including goaltender Cody Reichard (Hamilton), defenseman Mike Little (Worcester), and forwards Eric Hunter (Oklahoma City) and Justin Maylan (Oklahoma City).

The Thunder opens its preseason schedule at San Francisco on Oct. 3 at 7:00 p.m. and will host the Bakersfield Condors at Stockton Arena on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 7:30 p.m. Opening Night is Friday, Oct. 12 when the Thunder launches the 2012-13 season and the ECHL's 25th Anniversary campaign at home against the Ontario Reign starting at 7:30 p.m. at Stockton Arena.

A two time recipient of the ECHL "Award of Excellence," the Thunder led the ECHL in attendance for four consecutive seasons and drew over 200,000 fans for the seventh consecutive season in 2011-12.
