Royals Host Rebels and Hurricanes this Week

Victoria, BC- The Victoria Royals will host the Red Deer Rebels tomorrow night and the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Friday in both teams' lone regular season visit to the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. Friday's contest is Winter Driving Awareness Night presented by Mainroad and Kal Tire.

EAST SUCCES: The Royals hold a record of 20-2-0-1 in their last 23 contests against Eastern Conference opponents that includes a mark of 4-1-0-0 this season. Victoria went on a 17-game winning streak versus Eastern Conference teams between October 30, 2015 and October 11, 2016 and outscored their opponents 86-25 in the process. Since the team was relocated on the island, Victoria has posted a record of 56-29-3-6 against the Eastern Conference.

SUPER SOY: During Victoria's recent road trip, Tyler Soy recorded his first shorthanded goal of the year. With the marker, Soy passed Chilliwack Bruins' alumni Ryan Howse for the most shorthanded goals in franchise history. The Cloverdale, BC native has collected nine shorthanded goals, while Howse recorded eight during his time with the Bruins. Soy, with 99 career markers, is also only two goals away from tying alumni Brandon Magee for the most goals in Royals' history at 101. Howse holds the franchise mark for most goals scored with 140.
