Victoria, BC- The Victoria Royals fell victim to a late third period comeback by the Kelowna Rockets on Friday night at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre and fell 3-2. The Rockets' Leon Draisaitl scored with 43 seconds remaining in regulation for the win. Kelowna's Josh Morrissey pulled the visitors even at the 7:24 mark of the third period with a powerplay marker. The other three goals in tonight's contest also came via the powerplay. Victoria's goals were notched by Austin Carroll and Greg Chase, while Cole Linaker tallied Kelowna's other marker.

The Royals' Coleman Vollrath stopped 29 of the 32 shots he faced. Michael Herringer manned the net for the Rockets and turned away 25 of 27 shots in the victory.

Victoria went 2/728.6% on the man advantage and Kelowna went 2/633.3.0% with the extra attacker.

The Royals will once again entertain the Kelowna Rockets tomorrow night with puck drop scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Tomorrow's game is Hockey for Hospitals night with partial proceeds of ticket sales going towards vital signs monitors for the Victoria General Hospital Emergency Department.
