Royals and National Bank Financial Group Present Intra-Squad Game

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Royals and National Bank Financial Group are pleased to present the 2011 Intra-Squad Game tomorrow night, Wednesday, August 31st. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

"The Intra-Squad Game should be an intense and physical conclusion to our 2011 Training Camp and gives us as coaches a chance to see how guys play in a WHL game atmosphere," General Manager and Head Coach Marc Habscheid said. "We expect it to be very competitive, with guys battling for spots on our team as we head into our inaugural season."

Fans in attendance will be given the chance to 'beat the box office' and purchase single game tickets for all 2011-12 regular season home games. Tickets will go on sale through Select Your Tickets starting at 6 p.m. for the duration of the game.

In conjunction with broadcast partners The Zone @91.3 and 100.3 The Q, the Royals will be selling hot dogs, popcorn and pop for only $1.00! Vouchers for dollar dogs, popcorn and pop are available for download and print from www.thezone.fm and www.theq.fm.

Admission to the game will be by donation, with all proceeds going towards Free The Children, the world's largest network of children helping children through education, with more than one million youth involved in innovative education and development programs in 45 countries.

"National Bank Financial Group is proud to partner with The Victoria Royals and the opportunity to sponsor their inaugural intra-squad game", Vice President and BC Regional Manager Ron Walchuck said. "With the proceeds from the gate going exclusively to the Free The Children Big Dreamers Fund, we will be able to help local student fundraising groups to effect even greater positive change."

National Bank Financial Group (NBFG) has been a major supporter of Craig Keilburger and Free the Children since 2006, most recently helping to bring over 20,000 students from across BC to the "We Day" celebration of youth at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. National Bank Financial has been involved in supporting Victoria youth through sports, arts, education and health care for many years.

The game will also feature a Chuck-A-Puck contest and a 50/50 draw, with proceeds from the 50/50 being donated to Westshore Rebels Football.
