
Royals and Cox Communications Team Up for Kids

OMAHA - Monday, May 5th marks the annual Home Run For Youth Day, sponsored by Cox Communications. Thousands of kids will be bused from schools around the Omaha metro area to the Omaha Royals 11:05 a.m. game vs. the Oklahoma RedHawks.
The 11:05 a.m. first pitch is geared to fit the game in with the school day. Over 8,000 school kids have signed up to attend the game, through the joint effort of the Royals and Cox Communications. A total crowd of more than 10,000 is expected to attend Monday's game.
"Cox Communications has been working with schools to coordinate the event and the Royals are proud to be part of it," said Royals General Manager and Vice President Doug Stewart. "This day is one of the highlights of our season. There is nothing better than to have thousands of kids at the ballpark to have fun and learn a little bit about baseball," Stewart added.
Cox Communications made study guides available to schools for kids to learn mathematics is applied in baseball, such as when scoring a game.
