Victoria Royals News Release
Victoria, B.C. - The Victoria Royals have acquired 2001-born defenceman Neithan Salame from the Brandon Wheat Kings for Victoria's fifth round pick in the 2022 WHL Bantam Draft and sixth round pick in 2023.
Salame signed with the Wheat Kings during the 2017-18 season and has been with the team ever since. The 6'1" one-hundred-and-eighty-five-pound defenceman played in 150 games for Brandon posting seven goals, 25 assists while accumulating 87 penalty minutes. Prior to joining the Wheat Kings, Salame spent time with the KC Pats U18 AAA of the AMHL.
"Neithan will add some stability, leadership and experience to the back end," said Royals Director of Player Personnel Ed Fowler. "He is a reliable, steady defender, able to make quick reads and accurate exits out of the zone."
The Edmonton native is expected to be in the lineup on Saturday when the Royals take on the Cougars at the CN Centre at 7:00 p.m.
Victoria will return to the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre on October 22nd and 23rd to play Prince George in the third and fourth game of a six-game series. For tickets for next weekend, visit the Victoria Royals ticketing page or call the Select Your Ticket box office at 250-220-7777.
