BROCKTON, MA - After four hours, twenty-two minutes, 14 innings, and nine pitchers, SS Eugene Julien drove in RF Keith Brachold with a bases-loaded single in the last of the 14th inning to give the Brockton Rox their second straight victory over the Worcester Tornadoes. The Rox and Tornadoes played before a school-day crowd of 5,486, the biggest crowd of the season at Campanelli Stadium. SS Mike Scanzano had four hits for the Rox, including a game-tying single in the bottom of the 13th inning. RHP Jason Wylie picked up the win with a shutout 14th inning, as the Rox bullpen allowed just one run in relief of RHP Brad Guy in seven innings. Brockton improves to 9-10 and Worcester falls to 9-10 after their sixth consecutive loss.

The Rox scored first in the first frame on a double by 1B Jake Daubert. In the fourth trailing 2-1, the Rox tied the game on a RF Keith Brachold homer, his third of the season. The teams exchanged runs in the next inning, as the game was tied at four after five frames. RHP Brad Guy allowed three runs in seven innings, his fourth quality start of the season, while Worcester RHP Alex Pena gave up three runs in seven innings pitched as well.

The game remained tied into the 13th frame, when Worcester RF Keith Beauregard blooped a two-out single to left, giving the Tornaodes a one-run advantage. In the bottom of the 13th, Scanzano drove home 3B Mike Torres with an RBI single to tie the game, while 2B Matt Brunson was thrown out at the plate on a controversial call to keep the game tied. In the 14th, Brachold singled, CF Brad Rosenblat drew a four- pitch walk, Torres had a bunt single, and Julien's first pitch swinging single to left won it for Brockton.
