LF Eugene Julien's game winning RBI single in the 14th Inning led the Rox past the Tornadoes in front of a Brockton crowd of 5,486. Worcester has now lost a season high six games in a row and drops below .500 with a 9-10 mark. Brockton was led at the plate this afternoon by SS Mike Scanzano who had a 4-for-6 outing with an RBI. RF Keith Brachold, 3B Mike Torres, and Julien each had two hits on the day for the Rox, with Brachold hitting his third home run of the season. Brockton reliever Jason Wylie pitched a scoreless 14th inning to pick up his second win of the season. For Worcester this afternoon they were led by SS Zach Strong who was 2-for-6 with one run scored and two RBI.

North Shore 14, Quebec 3

North Shore was the beneficiary of a 6-run first inning and never looked back from there as they pounded out 24 hits to beat Quebec. Eight Spirit hitters totaled at least two hits in the game, led by CF Luis Sabino, who was a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate with two runs scored and an RBI. 2B B.J. Weed chipped in a 4-for-6 effort with a pair of runs scored and two RBIs. North Shore starting pitcher Bryan Morse scattered five hits through six innings, allowing two runs, both earned, while striking out four. Quebec SS Willie James was 3-for-5 in the leadoff spot with three runs scored in the losing effort.

New Jersey starting pitcher John Kelly kept his team in the game through seven innings, scattering nine hits and striking out seven while keeping the Skyhawks off of the scoreboard throughout. Kelly got some help via late inning scoring from the Jackals' offense. New Jersey scored twice in the sixth to extend their 3-0 lead to five and then three times in each of the last two innings to put the game out of reach. The Jackals' first three hitters, LF Jason Tuttle, RF Mike Nesbit and 3B Wilton Veras, were a combined 8-for-16 on the game with seven runs scored and five RBIs to lead New Jersey past the first-place Skyhawks.
