BROCKTON â The Rox lost to the Bangor Lumberjacks, 8-1, Friday night at Campanelli Stadium, in front of a crowd of 4,462.
The Rox dug an early hole for themselves, giving up seven runs in the first three innings, including a lead-off home run by Jose Garcia. Bangor starter Adam Thomas (4-4) shut down the Rox, who did not get a hit until Jake Daubert's fifth-inning single.
The Rox avoided being shut out when Mike Torres hit a solo home run in the eighth inning.
Scott Martin (4-4) took the loss for the Rox, going two-and-a-third innings, giving up seven runs on seven hits and two walks.
