Round Rock Express News Release

ROUND ROCK - Round Rock was going for the cycle in the eighth inning Monday and instead wound up with a five-run outburst that bolstered the team to an 8-4 win over Salt Lake.

The Express shelled out six hits, including Cody Ransom's sixth homer in as many games, as the team retook the lead at The Dell Diamond after losing it earlier in the inning. Ransom's homer marked the cycle for Round Rock as a team.

Tim Raines, Jr. and Beau Torbert tripled and Jesse Garcia went 2-for-3 with his only RBI proving to be the game-winner. Jared Gothreaux allowed one run on eight hits, three strikeouts and a walk over six innings of the no-decision and Travis Driskill picked up his third win with two innings of relief.

After letting a 3-1 lead slip into a one-run deficit in the eighth, Round Rock knotted the game on Ransom's 24th home run of the season. With two away, Barry Wesson singled through the middle and stole second.

Jesse Garcia followed up with an RBI-single to left to put the Express ahead 5-4. Danny Ardoin and Torbert strung together consecutive singles to make it 6-4 before Josh Anderson lifted a 2-run double to right field.
