Frisco RoughRiders News Release
FRISCO, TEXAS (MAY 8, 2015) - The Frisco RoughRiders set a new single-game attendance record at Dr Pepper Ballpark on Friday night as 11,915 fans attended the Riders' home game against the San Antonio Missions. The previous record crowd for a RoughRiders game at Dr Pepper Ballpark was 11,836, which was set on July 4, 2003 during the club's first season in Frisco.
Friday's game was the first in franchise history to be completely sold out in advance of game day. Tickets for every stadium section, hospitality area, suite, grass berm and standing room location were sold out prior to Friday. The RoughRiders once again lead all Double-A franchises in attendance, a feat the club has accomplished each season in the past decade.
"We want to give a huge thank you to our amazing fans for this wonderful accomplishment," said RoughRiders CEO and General Partner Chuck Greenberg. "We have been blown away by the strong support throughout our community and are thrilled by the overwhelmingly positive response that the new and improved Frisco RoughRiders and Dr Pepper Ballpark experience have received."
Following a four-game road trip, the RoughRiders return to the Metroplex on Thursday, May 14 to begin an eight-game home stand against the Corpus Christi Hooks and Midland RockHounds. Another "Thirsty Thursday" and "Groovy Grubesday" start off the home stand with $1 beers and Dr Pepper products from 6 - 8 p.m. for Thursday's game.
