Roughriders Select Heenan with First Overall Pick

The Saskatchewan Roughriders are pleased to announce they have selected University of Saskatchewan offensive lineman Ben Heenan with their first overall pick in today's CFL Canadian Draft.

Heenan (6'4 - 310 lbs.) spent four seasons on the offensive line at the University of Saskatchewan and helped the Huskies to three Canada West regular season titles and four straight playoff appearances. Prior to joining the U of S, the Grand Coulee native was a standout offensive lineman at Sheldon Williams high school in Regina.

Heenan picked up a number of CIS Awards during his collegiate career including Canada West Rookie of the Year; two-time Canada West all-star; two-time All-Canadian and played in the East-West Shrine Game.
