Heenan Selected First Overall in 2012 CFL Canadian Draft

TORONTO - The Saskatchewan Roughriders have officially selected Ben Heenan with the first overall pick in the 2012 CFL Canadian Draft.

CFL Commissioner Mark Cohon made the announcement live during the CFL Canadian Draft which is currently being broadcast on TSN.

Earlier today at the Dogs Breakfast in Saskatoon, an annual fundraising event held by the University of Saskatchewan Huskies, the Roughriders announced their intention to select Heenan with the first overall pick.

Heenan, a native of Saskatchewan, played four years as an offensive lineman with the Huskies. He was the number two ranked prospect by the CFL Scouting Bureau heading into today's draft.
