(Vancouver) After some early maneuvering by the BC Lions which netted them defensive lineman Jabar Westerman and offensive lineman Kirby Fabien in the first round of today's CFL Canadian Draft, the Leos continued to add depth to the trenches with their third round pick (22nd overall) Matthew Norman from Western.

Norman helped anchor the Mustangs' offensive line for four seasons including last fall when the Châteauguay, Quebec native helped the Mustangs lead the nation in rushing. For his efforts, the 6-foot-3, 317-pound senior was named an OUA all-star and a First-Team All-Canadian.

The Lions went back to the University of Calgary for their final selection of the day adding linebacker Jordan Verdone. Transferring from Waterloo after two seasons, the former CIS Rookie of the Year from 2008 sat out the 2010 campaign before racking up 32 tackles and three sacks over eight games in 2011 for the Dinos.

BC Lions Training Camp presented by Sun Peaks Resort gets underway in beautiful Kamloops, BC on Sunday, June 3rd. The Lions begin defence of their Grey Cup title with a preseason tilt versus Saskatchewan on Wednesday, June 13th before kicking off the regular season versus Winnipeg on Friday, June 29th. BC Lions 2012 season tickets are now on sale, call 604.589.ROAR for details or visit bclions.com.
