Frisco RoughRiders News Release

The RoughRiders posted their highest run total in almost two years in an 18-5 win over Northwest Arkansas Friday night at Arvest Ballpark. The victory clinches Frisco's first road sweep since June 25-28, 2010.

The 'Riders (29-24) scored in seven different innings. All but one of Frisco's offensive starters drove in a run, and seven different 'Riders scored. The RoughRiders had not scored this many runs since July 4, 2009, when the club also plated 18 at Springfield.

Frisco jumped out to a four-run advantage in the first inning. Jonathan Greene's two-run triple was the big hit in that inning. Elio Sarmiento went yard to lead off the second frame. Frisco tacked on three more in the fourth, capped off by a two-run single from Mike Bianucci.

Bianucci's three-run double one inning later finished off a five-run fifth, which matches a season-high for runs in a single inning.

In the sixth, Guilder Rodriguez's single chased home a pair. Greene got involved again in the seventh on a solo shot, his sixth homer of the year.

Bianucci drove in his sixth run of the game on a single in the ninth. It is the most runs driven in by a RoughRider during the Steve Buechele era.

Mendonca's sacrifice fly to center later in that frame marked the end of Frisco's offensive exploits.

Frisco starter Carlos Pimentel (2-3) matched a career-high with seven innings of work. He allowed two runs on three hits. Pimentel has now tossed at least six innings in four of his last six outings.

The RoughRiders head to Tulsa for a three-game series beginning Saturday night at 7:05. It is the final three games for Frisco against the Texas League North. The 'Riders' starting pitcher has yet to be announced, while right-hander Joey Williamson will get the call for the Drillers.
