RoughRiders' Hjelle Named USHL Goaltender of the Week

Cedar Rapids, Iowa- The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders' Brady Hjelle has been named Stauber's Goalcrease United States Hockey League Goaltender of the Week.

Hjelle, 17, made 28 saves last Saturday night in the RoughRiders' 5-1 win over the Tri-City Storm in Kearney, Nebraska. The International Falls, Minnesota, native has now given up just one goal or shutout the opposition in 12 of his 29 starts this season.

Hjelle leads the league in minutes played (1693:35), ranks second in save percentage (.928), wins (19) and shutouts (2) and ranks third in goals against average (2.34). This marks the third time this season the Minnesota-Duluth recruit has been named USHL Goaltender of the Week.

Hjelle, who played for International Falls High School last season, was selected by the Riders in the ninth round of the 2006 USHL Futures Draft with the one hundredth choice.

The RoughRiders (25-13-1, 51 points) are currently in second place in the USHL's East Division. The Riders return to action tomorrow night at 7:05 when they take on the Sioux City Musketeers at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena.

Tickets for all remaining RoughRiders regular season home games- including tomorrow night's game- are now on sale. The ticket office is open from noon to 5:00PM on weekdays and from noon through the end of the second period on game days. Ticket prices range from $7 to $17 in advance and from $8 to $18 on game days.
