RoughRiders' Aneloski Commits to Providence

Cedar Rapids, Iowa- Cedar Rapids RoughRiders defenseman Bryce Aneloski has committed to the Providence College, the RoughRiders announced today

"Bryce has come in and done a very good job of adapting to our league," said RoughRiders Coach and General Manager Mark Carlson. "He's been very consistent since day one and has worked very hard to earn this opportunity."

Aneloski, 17, scored his sixth goal of the season last Saturday in the RoughRiders' 5-1 win over the Tri-City Storm in Kearney, Nebraska and is now tied for eighth among United States Hockey League defensemen in goal scoring. The Pekin, Illinois, native has totaled 15 points and has posted a plus/minus rating of (+13) while playing in each of the Riders' first 39 games.

Aneloski was selected by the RoughRiders in eighth round of May's USHL Entry Draft with the eighty-first overall pick after playing midget hockey for Team Illinois last season.

Providence (13-10-3 overall, 10-6-3 conference) is currently in third place in Hockey East.

Aneloski joins David Boehm (Massachusetts), Matt Donovan (Denver), Kyle Flanagan (St. Lawrence), Brady Hjelle (Minnesota-Duluth), Doug Jones (Dartmouth), Scott Mathis (Air Force), Vince Mihalek (Cornell), Nick Oddo (Nebraska-Omaha), Paul Phillips (Denver), Ian Slater (Western Michigan), Tyler Thompson (Minnesota State-Mankato), Matt Tomassoni (Miami of Ohio), Casey Wellman (Massachusetts) and Chris Wideman (Miami of Ohio) as the fifteenth current RoughRider to make a college commitment.

The RoughRiders (25-13-1, 51 points) are in second place in the USHL's East Division. The Riders return to action tomorrow night at 7:05 when they take on the Sioux City Musketeers at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena.

Tickets for all remaining RoughRiders regular season home games- including tomorrow night's game- are now on sale. The ticket office is open from noon to 5:00PM on weekdays and from noon through the end of the second period on game days. Ticket prices range from $7 to $17 in advance and from $8 to $18 on game days.
