Indiana Ice News Release

MAD SEASON: With two victories last weekend, the Ice improved their overall record to 29-7-4 (62 pts) and assured themselves of having the best record in franchise history, bettering the 27-28-4 (58 pts) mark of last season. The red-hot Ice has won six consecutive games and own a franchise-best home record of 19-2-3. The club is also 17-4-2 against the East Division and 12-3-2 against their foes from the West Division.

MATCHBOX "20": With Saturday's 5-1 win over Green Bay, goaltender Scott Darling established the new "high mark" for wins in a season by an Ice goaltender with his 20th victory between the pipes for the Ice this year. He passes former Ice netminder and current Minnesota Golden Gophers goaltender, Alex Kangas, who won 19 games last season. In his last eight starts in net, Darling has racked up a 6-1-1 record, 1.81 GAA and a .945 SV%.

MAD HATTER: Forward T.J. Syner became the first Ice player to post a hat trick (3 goals) this season when he lit the lamp three times in Saturday's win over Green Bay. Syner, who now has 14 goals on the year, becomes the seventh player in franchise history to join the elite club whose members include former Ice players Eddie Del Grosso, Milan Gulas, Ryan Peckskamp, Mike Phillippi, Eric Kattelus and Eric Miller.

THE PLUS FACTOR: Ice defensemen John Carlson and Robert Martini have been stalwarts in their own end of late. Carlson boasts a (+8) plus/minus in his last four games and is (+14) overall in his last 12 contests. Martini leads all Ice players with an overall (+14) clip and is (+11) in his last 12 games.

OTHER ROCK STARS: Greg Squires has 13 points (3G, 10A) in his last eight games....John Kemp registered his sixth three-or-more game of the season and 17th of his Ice career with three helpers on Saturday night....Kemp (51 pts) and Squires (48 pts) enter this week's play first and second in the USHL in scoring....Jake Skjodt has three points (G, 2A) in his last two games....Paul Carey has four points (G, 3A) in his last four games.
