Roughriders Bolster Offense with Final Picks

With their fourth round selection (32nd overall) Saskatchewan Roughrider head coach Danny Barrett selected offensive lineman Jim Merrick from McGill University. Merrick has spent the last three seasons patrolling the offensive line at McGill. The 22-year old was CIS first-team All-Canadian and QIFC All-Conference last season.
In the fifth round (41st overall) Saskatchewan looked close to home and drafted University of Regina receiver Michael Thomas. The Regina native led the Rams in receiving last season with 14 catches for 430 yards and five touchdowns.
For their final selection (49th overall) the Saskatchewan Roughriders picked University of Saskatchewan offensive lineman Adrian Olenick. The 305-pound Olenick anchored the Huskie offensive line that allowed their team to rush for more than 1,200 yards this past season.
