9 Kickers have been drafted in the past 5 years. Just 1 kicker was invited to the 2003 Evaluation Camp (Dave Stala, St. Mary's University) while 11 Kickers are eligible for this year's draft. Six of the 11 Kickers come from the OUA while Sandro Sciortino of Boston College is the lone Kicker from an NCAA program.

8 of the past 14 drafts - An NCAA player has been drafted first overall. Not since 2001 has an NCAA player been drafted in the 1st spot (DL Scott Schultz, North Dakota to Saskatchewan).

7 First Round draft picks belonging to a West Division club, Winnipeg however has none of these picks. Seven is also the number of players who were drafted out of Manitoba in the 2002 Canadian College Draft.

6 Quarterbacks drafted in the last 5 years. Two still remain in the league but not as QB's. The first, Jason Crumb, was drafted by the BC Lions in the 5th Round (34 Overall) of the 1999 draft from the Saskatchewan Huskies. Since then Crumb has been converted to a Safety. Mike O'Brien was the other, drafted by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the 4th Round (23 Overall) of the 2000 draft from the Western Mustangs. O'Brien was originally listed as a punter/quarterback and is now listed only as a punter. 2 Quarterbacks were invited to this year's evaluation camp and scouts have already discussed converting at least one of them to another position.

5 Calgary's total number of draft picks in the 1st two Rounds of this year's draft. 3 of the picks will come in the first round (#2, #4 & #7) while the other two picks come early in the second round (#11 & #12 Overall).

4 players have been drafted in the past 5 years, in the 1st Round, who also own a Vanier Cup ring. They are Curtis Galick from UBC, Tyson St. James* from UBC, Daaron McField** of UBC and Alexander Gauthier*** of Laval. Of the 4, just one player has won the Vanier Cup as a senior then been drafted in the 1st Round of the Canadian College Draft, DB Curtis Galick from UBC. Galick won the Vanier Cup with the Thunderbirds in 1997, and was drafted by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the 1st Round (7 Overall) of the 1998 Canadian College Draft. Four is also the number of ‘CFL Rookie of the Year' winners produced by BC in the past 5 years, including Jason Clermont who was drafted 4th Overall in the 2002 Canadian College Draft.

3 Hec Crighton award winners from the past 8 years who compete in the CFL (Eric Lapointe, Mtl., Marc Nohra, Ott., Don Blair, Cal.). Three is also the total number of picks Edmonton had in all of last year's draft.

2 former Hec Creighton award winners are eligible for the 2003 draft - QB Tommy Denison of Queen's (2003 winner) and FB Kojo Aidoo of McMaster (2000 winner). Both were invited to the 2003 Evaluation Camp in Ottawa. Never before have 2 Hec Crighton award winners been eligible for draft in the same year. This Draft could also mark the first time that 2 Hec Crighton award winners have been drafted in the same year...if both are taken.

1 The total number of picks left for Winnipeg in the first 3 Rounds of this year's draft. The Blue Bombers traded away the #7, #16 and #25 picks to Calgary, Ottawa and Calgary respectively.
