Calgary, AB - Calgary Roughnecks General Manager and Vice President Kurt Silcott today inked two players and an assistant coach in preparation for the 2007 season.

Two of the three, forward Derek Tom and assistant coach Abe Conn, have been with the club before.

"Derek's been with us in the past though he never got beyond the practice squad," said Silcott. "But he had a great summer (playing Sr. B with Airdrie) and we're going to give him another look.

"The NLL is becoming more and more suited to his style of up and down play, and it will be interesting to see how he performs at this year's camp."

Conn is entering his fourth year as an assistant to Head Coach Chris Hall.

"We're glad to have Abe back on board doing scouting and our DVD work," said Silcott. "His efforts in getting video and clips to our players is integral to the team's preparation week in, week out."

The third signing is young goaltender, Alex Coutts of Red Deer.

Silcott said, "Alex is a promising young netminder from right here in Alberta. He'll now get his shot to show if he can step and play at the NLL level."
