
Roughnecks re-sign goaltender Andrew Leyshon

Calgary, AB - Calgary Roughnecks General Manager Kurt Silcott announced today the re-signing of goaltender Andrew Leyshon to a one-year deal. Terms and conditions of the contract were not disclosed.
Last season, Leyshon's fourth in the NLL, he dressed for 7 games posting a 73.5 save percentage along with a 12.65 GAA playing in 147 minutes during the 2006 campaign.
Leyshon, 25, was signed by the Roughnecks as a free agent prior to the 2005 season. The 6 foot 230lbs. Port Coquitlam, BC native has played in 49 career NLL games posting a 14.78 GAA along with a 74.3 save percentage and collecting 76 loose balls. 32 of his career games were played with the now defunct Ottawa Rebel.
"Andrew is a goalie that is coming into his own. He filled in well for Curtis the past two years and most recently, had an excellent summer playing with Burnaby in the WLA," said Kurt Silcott, Calgary Roughnecks General Manager. "Andrew is motivated to win the starting role this season, and he'll have every opportunity to do so. We expect a great battle between him and Ryan Avery in camp and look forward to seeing which one of these guys steps up and takes the #1 spot."
The Roughnecks will open their 2007 NLL campaign January 12, 2007 versus the San Jose Stealth at 7:30pm at the Pengrowth Saddledome.
