Calgary Roughnecks
The Arizona Sting (3-0) remained undefeated in a much-anticipated rematch of last year's West Division Final, with an 11-10 victory over the Calgary Roughnecks.
Knotted up several times throughout and ending in an overtime period, the Sting and Roughnecks showed why they were at the top of the division coming into this match. The Roughnecks are now tied with San Jose for second place, and will play the Stealth on March 18.
Calgary's Kaleb Toth, Tracey Kelusky and Jason Wulder earned a hat trick apiece, with Taylor Wray contributing the tenth point.
Craig Conn scored nearly half of Arizona's points with five; Pat Maddalena and Jason Crosbie made a pair of points each; Dan Dawson and Peter Veltman each scored a goal. Conn's goal, with an assist by Scott Self, was the winning score in overtime.
The Sting's next game is on February 3rd against the visiting Colorado Mammoth. Calgary is en route to Portland to take on the LumberJax tomorrow.
