Calgary Roughnecks News Release

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks defeated the Halifax Thunderbirds 13-8 Friday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome, in the only regular season game between the two teams for 2021-22.

It was a goal-and-goal game to start, with the Roughnecks answering every Halifax goal with one of their own through the first and second. Three straight goals for the home side in the third quarter shifted the momentum, with the Roughnecks carrying a four goal lead into the fourth.

Calgary added two final goals to the tally to maintain the lead and take the game 13-8.

Dan Taylor had a four-goal night, the first of his NLL career, whilst Tanner Cook, Curtis Dickson and Jesse King scored two-a-piece. Tyler Pace, Zach Currier and Shane Simpson rounded out the total each adding a goal.

Christian Del Bianco had a strong outing in the Calgary net, stopping 46 of 54 shots faced. Halifax outshot Calgary 54-49.

The Roughnecks are now 7 and 7 with four games left in the regular season.

The Roughnecks are back at WestJet Field tomorrow night, taking on Panther City LC at 7pm MST for the Superhero Party. To join the party at the Rough House, tickets are available at CalgaryRoughnecks.com/tickets, or from the Ticketmaster Box Office at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
