Teat Shines with Six Goals as Riptide Defeat Bandits in Buffalo

Buffalo, NY - Jeff Teat scored 10 points on six goals and four assists as the New York Riptide (5-10) were victorious 15-12 over the Buffalo Bandits (13-3) at KeyBank Center in Buffalo, NY Saturday evening.
Teat's six goals set a career high, and the rookie currently leads the NLL in points, goals and assists. Eight different players scored for the Riptide, despite missing Callum Crawford for the second consecutive game.
"Tonight was obviously a great win for our group," Riptide Head Coach Dan Ladouceur said. "I feel like that was a complete game. We challenged the guys pre-game to leave everything on the floor and have a 'statement game'. Everyone responded from Orleman right through the front door. Jeff had an incredible night and our D made every one of their possessions a battle. We are extremely proud of the guys response today and happy with what we are building here."
The Riptide got out to a fast start, as Scott Dominey and Tyler Digby each scored to push New York out to a 2-0 lead four minutes in. Buffalo netted one on a goal from Chase Frasier to cut the lead to 2-1, but the Riptide would respond.
A 1:47 span saw the Riptide scoring three goals, with Connor Kearnan, Dan Lomas and Kieran McArdle all finding the back of the net. Teat scored his first of the game to push the Riptide out to a 6-1 lead to end the first quarter.
It was more of the same to begin the second, as the Kearnan, Teat and Ron John all scored which gave the Riptide a 9-1 lead. The Bandits responded with a pair of goals to cut the lead to 9-3 before Teat completed his hat trick to give the Riptide a seven-goal cushion heading into halftime.
The teams kept pace in the third quarter, as the Bandits outscored the Riptide 4-3 to send the teams into the final frame 13-7. For the Riptide, Teat scored his fourth of the game and then assisted on goals by Lomas and Larson Sundown.
In the fourth, Teat scored his fifth of the game just 24 seconds into the quarter. Teat followed it up after a Buffalo goal with his sixth goal of the game to give the Riptide a 15-8 lead. The Bandits scored the game's final four goals, but in the end, the Riptide defense-backed by goalie Steven Orleman-sealed the victory.
The Riptide will return home to Nassau Coliseum next weekend to face the Rochester Knighthawks on Saturday, April 16th at 7:30pm as the team hosts Health and Wellness Night presented by Orlin & Cohen. This will mark the fourth of six games for the Riptide in the month of April.
