Rotar Signs with Hurricanes

LETHBRIDGE, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club announced Tuesday they have signed 2008-born goaltender Brody Rotar to a Western Hockey League Scholarship and Development Agreement.

Rotar, 15, was selected by the Hurricanes in the fifth-round (102nd overall) in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft. The Creston, BC, product spent the 2022-2023 season with the Lethbridge Golden Hawks U15 team appearing in 24 regular season games posting a record of 6-13-3 along with a 4.07 goals against average and a .902 save percentage. Rotar posted a .910 SV% and a 4.00 GAA in two post-season games with the Golden Hawks.

The 6 '2, 150-pound netminder appeared in 15 games with the East Kootenay Zone U15 AA team in 2021-2022 where he posted a 10-4-1 record with a 3.38 GAA and one shutout. Rotar has appeared in two games so far this season with the Edge School U17 Prep team in the CSSHL posting an 0-2-0-0 record.

The Hurricanes return to the ENMAX Centre on Friday, October 6th when they welcome the Moose Jaw Warriors at 7:00pm in the first of a three-game weekend.
