Red Deer Rebels News Release
WEEKEND RECAP
Just one game for the Red Deer Rebels this past weekend. Unfortunately, the Rebels dropped that game, a 4-2 loss to the Medicine Hat Tigers Friday night at the Peavey Mart Centrium. Hunter Mayo opened the scoring early for the Rebels in his return to the lineup. Medicine Hat pulled ahead 3-1 before Mats Lindgren, also playing his first game of the season, pulled the Rebels within one with a third period power play tally. Unfortunately, the Tigers added a late insurance goal to seal the win.
UPCOMING GAMES
It's the first two-game home weekend of the season for the Rebels as they host a pair of games at the Peavey Mart Centrium.
Friday night, the Rebels welcome the Prince Albert Raiders to town. Red Deer and Prince Albert split their four-game series last season.
Then on Saturday, the Rebels take on the Lethbridge Hurricanes for the first time this season. It's the first of six meetings between the two Alberta rivals. Red Deer was 4-1-0-1 versus Lethbridge last season.
Both games start at 7 p.m. with tickets available through ticketsalberta.com. All Rebels regular season and playoff games, home and away, are broadcast exclusively on 106.7 REWIND Radio, and CHL TV.
BEER NIGHT
One of the most popular Rebels game night promotions is back for another season as this Saturday (Oct. 7 vs. Lethbridge) is the first Beer Night Special of the season. Fans can enjoy two cans of domestic beer for just $10.
REBELS RED
Sticking with suds... Rebels Red, the official beer of the Red Deer Rebels, is back! Rebels Red is proudly produced by Troubled Monk, the official craft beer partner of the Rebels. Available throughout fall, Rebels Red is available on game nights at the Peavey Mart Centrium, at the Troubled Monk taproom, and at retailers across central Alberta.
WELCOME BACK
The Rebels welcomed back three key veterans this past week from NHL camps - forward Kalan Lind (Nashville Predators), and defencemen Mats Lindgren (Buffalo Sabres) and Hunter Mayo (Los Angeles Kings).
LEADING THE WAY
The Rebels have announced their leadership group for the 2023-24. Kai Uchacz will serve as Captain, while Jhett Larson, Kalan Lind, Mats Lindgren and Hunter Mayo will serve as Alternate Captains.
