
Rosa and Lyman Honored by Marlins for April Performances

JUPITER, FL-On Thursday the Miami Marlins announced that two Jupiter Hammerheads were honored for their performances in the month of April. First baseman Viosergy Rosa was named the Miami Marlins Minor League Player of the Month and right-handed pitcher Scott Lyman was named the Miami Marlins Minor League Pitcher of the Month.
In April, Rosa batted .320 (31-97) over 26 games with five doubles, three home runs and 20 RBI. He posted a .431 on base percentage and his 18 walks ranked 3rd in Florida State League for the month. Rosa, the Marlins' 29th round selection in the 2010 First-Year Player Draft out of Odessa Junior College (TX), was also 4th in the FSL in runs batted in.
Lyman went 2-1 with a 0.56 ERA in 5 games started in April. Over 32 innings pitched, he held opponents to a .155 batting average while striking out 25 and walking only five. Lyman, the Marlins' 10th round selection in the 2011 First-Year Player Draft out of University of California-Davis, ranked 1st in the Florida State League in WHIP (0.69), 1st in batting average against (.155) and 2nd in ERA (0.56).
