Chillicothe, Ohio - Richmond won its third straight game Monday with a 4-2 win over the Chillicothe Paints. Jared Howton provided a solid pitching performance to help the Roosters win the first game of the series.

The Roosters scored in the first inning on a Kevin White solo homer to right field. Richmond added three in the second thanks to Mike Bidwell's two run double scoring Rich Daly and Joe Rhomberg. Mike Reese would drive in a run with a single to cap off the inning. Chillicothe's lone run came in the third from Josh Ury. Ury reached on a walk and scored after two Howton wild pitches in the inning.

Jared Howton (3-2) pitched six innings and gave up just one hit to get the win. Hunter Davis (1) allowed a run in the ninth but earned the save. Justin Munoz (2-2) gave up all four Richmond runs to take the loss.

The Roosters and Paints will play the second game of the series on Tuesday at 6:05 p.m. (Indiana time). Dan Caldwell (1-3, 3.15 ERA) will make his first appearance for Richmond.
