Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, May 28, 2005 - With one day before the Als' full training camp kicks off, rookies held their third practice today. Here are the highlights of Day 3:
Special teams
This morning's practice was focused on special teams. It lasted less than two hours.
Veteran medicals
The vets underwent their medicals this morning at the McGill University Sports Complex. All players will be meeting officially for the first time today at 4 p.m. for the first general team meeting.
Results
Every player passed his medical.
Lester Smith is back
Former Alouette free safety Lester Smith (1999-2001) is back as a guest coach at training camp and will be working with the secondary.
Superlatives
After the official weigh-in, veteran Uzooma Okeke has earned the right to call himself the heaviest Alouette at 310 lbs, as Ezra Landry remains the lightest at 146 lbs.
Rosters
The Alouettes' 68-man roster plus the seven 2005 draft picks and two undrafted free agents will be posted on the team's official website today.
Fritz report
Starting tomorrow, follow the Fritz File on www.montrealalouettes.com Fan Day tomorrow Training Camp Fan Day will be tomorrow, as the public is invited to attend the Alouettes' first official practice as of 10 a.m. on site at the Campus du Fort Saint-Jean. Players will be available after practice to sign autographs and for pictures. A barbecue with free hot-dogs and drinks will follow. Visit the Training Camp section of our website for directions.
