
Romine, Noesi and Franklin Selected to XM Futures Game Roster

(TRENTON, NJ) The Trenton Thunder, Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced today that catcher Austin Romine, RHP Hector Noesi and Manager Tony Franklin have been selected to participate in the XM Futures Game in Anaheim during the MLB All-Star break. The XM Futures Game is considered the top showcase of baseball prospects and will be held on Sunday, July 11 at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.
Austin Romine entered the 2010 season as the #2 rated Yankees prospect by Baseball America. The Yankees second-round pick in 2007 is currently hitting .286 with four homeruns and a team-high 19 doubles.
Domincan RHP Hector Noesi began the season at High-A Tampa and was promoted to Trenton in mid-May. Noesi has excelled at Double-A with a 3-1 record and a 2.13 ERA in six starts. Noesi has recorded 34 strikeouts in 38 innings pitched, including a 10 strikeout performance on June 6 against Richmond.
Tony Franklin will make his third appearance on the Futures Game roster having represented the Thunder in 2007 and 2009. Franklin is in his fourth season at the helm in Trenton and won back-to-back Eastern League Championships in 2007 and 2008.
Noesi and Romine now total 14 Thunder players to appear in the Futures Game, joining C Jesus Montero (2009), INF Ramiro Pena (2008), RHP Joba Chamberlain (2007) and RHP Phil Hughes (2006) who appeared in the games the last four seasons.

The 12th annual Futures Game can be seen live on MLB.TV, ESPN2 and ESPN2 HD at 6 p.m. ET and followed live on MLB.com's Gameday. In addition, XM Radio will broadcast play-by-play coverage of the event live on XM 175. MLB.com will also provide complete coverage before, during and after the game.
