Rome Emperors News Release

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves announce roster moves before home stand with Asheville. Infielder Jon Gilmore has been activated from the disabled list and the team receives infielder Chad Lundahl and outfielder Yohan Silva from Myrtle Beach of the Carolina League.

Leaving the Rome squad and heading to Danville of the Appalachian League is outfielder David Berres and infielders Randy Gress and Stephen Shults.

Atlanta Braves pitcher John Smoltz is scheduled to pitch an inning tonight as part of a rehabilitation assignment. Smoltz was placed on the disabled list retroactive to April 28, with a severely inflamed bicep tendon and inflammation of the rotator cuff in his right shoulder. In his last rehab appearance, Smoltz reported no discomfort after allowing one hit in one inning with the double-A Mississippi Braves last Saturday night. He threw 12 pitches, eight for strikes, in the eighth inning against the Tennessee Smokies.

Tonight's game against Asheville begins at 7pm and is the start of a four game home stand. For ticket information call 706-378-5144 or log on to www.romebraves.com .
