
Rolling Hogs End Season Long Homestand Tonight

Rockford, Ill - After scoring four goals in each of the opening three games to begin their season-long homestand, the Rockford IceHogs (37-19-5-2) will try to continue their hot play, as they welcome the Lake Erie Monsters (28-25-6-4) to the BMO Harris Bank Center. Tonight's face off is set for 7 p.m.
The contest is another WXRX Dollar Day at the BMO. Fans can enjoy one dollar hot dogs, sodas, beers and companion tickets. The matchup is the last of eight meetings between the IceHogs and Monsters this season. Rockford holds a 4-2-1-0 record over their Midwest Division rival, including a 2-0-1-0 mark at home.

The IceHogs enter tonight's contest with a record of 8-1-1-0 in their last ten games and winners of four straight. The Hogs' last meeting against the Monsters was a weekend doubleheader from the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio on February 20-21, where the two clubs split the pair of games.
Rockford has been clicking offensively as of late as they have scored 3.70 goals per game over their past ten. The Hogs are led by forward Garret Ross whose 38 points (18g-18a) tops all IceHogs skaters and his 18 goals on the season are tied for the team-lead with linemate Mark McNeill. Ross enters with a plus/minus rating of plus-20 which is also tied for a team-best with defenseman Stephen Johns.
On the back end of the ice, Michael Leighton enters Wednesday's matchup with the Monsters showing a record of 17-11-4 in 34 games in the cage this season. Leighton has a 2.21 goals against average which is tied for 10th in the AHL.
Lake Erie, sitting just four points out of the eighth and final playoff spot, is led by forward Andrew Agozzino. The 23-year-old leads the Monsters in goals (19), assists (23), and points (42) while defenseman Stefan Elliott paces all Monsters blueliners in scoring (15g-17a).
The Monsters are led in the cage by goalie Calvin Pickard. Pickard has split time between the Monsters and their NHL affiliate, the Colorado Avalanche. With the Monsters he has appeared in 37 contests and shows a record of 16-13-7. In 16 NHL games, Pickard has 6-7-3 record.
Next Home Game: Friday, April 3 vs. Grand Rapid Griffins: Face-off is at 7 p.m. It's Golf Rockford Night at the BMO as the first 1,500 fans into the building will receive an IceHogs "Jeff Cap" thanks to Bud Light.
