Rodriguez Activated off T.I. List

Dayton, OH - The Cincinnati Reds have removed C Eddy Rodriguez from the temporarily inactive list and have placed the catcher back on the Dragons active roster. Rodriguez, a native of Cuba, was placed on the TI after returning home to Miami, Florida to take his United States Citizenship test. Rodriguez attended Coral Gables High School and the University of Miami and was selected by the Reds in the 20th round of the 2006 First Year Player Draft. In 55 games with the Dragons he is hitting .242 with five home runs and 24 RBI. He will be in uniform for the Dragons Wednesday night game against the Cedar Rapids Kernels at Fifth Third Field.

The Cincinnati Reds have reassigned C Fernando Encarnacion to the Sarasota Reds of the Florida State League. The catcher appeared in one game for the Dragons slugging a two run homer is Dayton's 11-4 win over Cedar Rapids on Tuesday, July 17th. Encarnacion was signed by the Reds in June of 2004 as a non-drafted free agent and spent the 2004 and 2005 seasons with the DSL Reds. In 2006, Encarnacion spent the entire season with the GCL Reds and appeared in 20 games posting a .333 average with three doubles and five runs batted in. With the roster move, the Dragons active roster it is back to the 25 max limit.
